ESSENTIAL BUT DEPORTABLE

The return of massive workplace raids and the adoption of strong anti-immigrant policies such as "zero tolerance" during the Trump administration, destroyed the social and economic fabric of immigrant communities across the country. This project takes a comprehensive look at the impact of massive worksite immigration raids and delves deeply into the human cost of these policies.

Role: Co-director, co-producer, cinematographer and editor

In O’Neill, Nebraska, pastor Brian Loy offered support to the immigrant community after a massive immigration raid in 2018. Some members of his congregation left the church because of his actions.

Jonathan, a Mexican worker on an H2A visa, arrived to O’Neill a month after the raid to fill the shortage of workers at the town’s plants.

In North Carolina, immigrants have organized and resisted against cruel immigration policies. Iván Almonte, who is undocumented, advocates for families separated by ICE in the state.
